Douston Construction was established in August 1985. Our initial projects were made up of subcontract frame labor and other forms of carpentry. Our crew was composed of the owners, Shawn and Gail, and two additional carpenters. Over time, our team has grown to include some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the construction business. Our staff currently consists of project managers, estimators, office personnel, and several frame and finish crews. Their combined expertise and dedication allows Douston Construction to continue to offer top quality craftsmanship and service.
This year, Douston Construction had the privilege to work with several repeat customers, some wishing to build second homes, while others wanted to complete unfinished areas of their existing home or add new garages. Douston built over 12,000sf of new finished living space. These new houses ranged in style from a Cape style that replaced a family home in Cape Porpoise Village to a contemporary energy efficient summer home situated in a small beachfront community that features finish oak panel walls & ceilings and exterior polycarbonate siding.

Our construction of additions and remodeling kept us very busy during 2009. We completed approximately 12,000sf of finished living space. Many of our remodels can best be described as whole house remodels. In one instance, the existing home was removed & replaced onto a new foundation. Also remodeled were homes where the construction incorporated existing portions of the structure into the finished project. These houses included many of the amenities found in our new home construction as well as the charm of the former construction.
