Patty
Office Administrator
Patty has worked as the Office Administrator for Douston Construction
Inc. since 1997. She is responsible for overseeing every aspect
of bookkeeping for Douston Construction. Patty also tracks work
in process on a monthly basis comparing actual costs to estimated
cost. She compiles and analyzes monthly reports to forecast the
company’s financial progress. Patty provides to the customer
detailed reports of the financial activity of their project. Her
attention-to-detail, organizational skills and customer focus
make her an invaluable member of the Douston Construction team.
Paulette
Bookkeeping Assistant/ Human Resources
Paulette joined Douston Construction in January of 2002. She
assists the Office Manager in maintaining the financial records
for the company.
Paulette also works closely with the Project Manager in creating
budget reports necessary for a customer’s project. Clients
should feel free to call her if they have any questions regarding
the financial aspect of their home building experience.
Paulette’s background in small business management and
human resources allowed her to develop the human resource department
at Douston Construction. Her responsibilities include processing
the weekly payroll and maintaining all employee records and benefits.

Dave
Project Manager
David was a subcontractor for Douston Construction as a finish
carpenter for 1 1/2 years before joining us in the office in March
of 2001. He brings with him 23 years experience in the construction
business. His role at Douston Construction is to follow projects
through to completion acting as a liaison between our clients,
our job supervisors, the office, and subcontractors.
Career Background
David graduated from New England Aeronautical Institute with an
Associate Degree in Business Administration in 1978. While searching
for a career opportunity, he worked as a carpenter’s apprentice,
and discovered his calling. He honed his carpentry skills working
for local contractors and a cabinetmaker until 1984. In 1984,
he opened his own General Contracting business, which ran successfully
for 11 years. During this time, he took continuing education courses
in Basic Drafting, Architectural Drafting, and AutoCAD. In 1995,
David was offered a position as Chief Engineer with a local lodging
and restaurant company that owns several properties. With this
company, he oversaw the construction of a new restaurant including,
a 5000-bottle wine room. He was also responsible for the day-to-day
maintenance operations. This position allowed him to gain knowledge
in the mechanics of commercial restaurant equipment, sprinkler
systems, and HVAC systems. David is also certified in Erosion
Control Practices from the Maine Nonpoint Source Training and
Resource center.
Gary
Estimator/Project Manager
Gary has been with Douston Construction since 1996, and in the
construction field for 25 years. Gary’s background also
includes architectural, mechanical and electrical drafting. Gary's
responsibilities include estimating and some project management.
His role as an estimator is to take the physical house plan and
create a realistic cost estimate for the customer. As a Project
Manager, Gary manages the details of the home building process,
working closely with the Job Supervisors, homeowner and subcontractors.
Gary’s background and construction experience make him an
expert estimator, as he knows what it takes in the field to get
any job done.
Career Background
Gary graduated from the United States Navy Electronics Technician
"A" School in 1972. He then received his Bachelor of
Science in Civil Engineering at the University of New Hampshire
in 1978. Gary has continually taken various educational courses
to add to his portfolio. He most recently completed a certificate
course in Projects Management from the University of New England
in 2002. Gary's experience includes holding the position of Code
Enforcement Officer. Gary ventured into a business of his own
for 12 years. He owned and operated a design and build general
contracting company. Here he was responsible for every aspect
of the construction of custom residences. These responsibilities
included assisting in design, cost estimating, project planning,
project scheduling and field supervision. Gary’s varied
experiences make Gary a valued member of the Douston Construction
team.
In his spare time, Gary contributes to the community by volunteering
as a member of the Kennebunk Site Plan Review Board and the Economic
Development Committee. Also he enjoys square dancing with his
wife, Ida.
Sam
Estimator/Project Manager
Sam began work at Douston Construction, as a carpenter, in the
summer of 1996 to help pay for college. His time in the field
taught him the basics of framing production, in addition to firsthand
knowledge of the products used and the role of subcontractors.
He worked part time in the Douston office while in college studying
Business Management and then shifting to Computer Technology.
He graduated from Southern Maine Community College in 2002 with
a degree in Computer Technology.
Sam is spearheading Douston Construction’s transition to
the new Timberline Office and Estimating System. This System will
be a fully integrated business software system. Sam’s background
provides Douston Construction with the flexibility of doing Project
Management or Estimating as the need arises. Sam’s versatility
is a great asset to the Douston team.
Ann-Marie
Estimator
Ann-Marie is the newest addition to the Douston Construction
team. She comes to Douston Construction from a local lumber company
where she was the head estimator for many years. Her skill in
this field is well known in the local construction area. Ann-Marie’s
role is to provide an accurate cost calculation of each project
Douston Construction undertakes. Her background and skill in estimating
promise to make her a key member of the team for years to come.
